On touch

What a surface can say

Textile carries evidence. A crease marks a decision. A seam records a hand. A frayed edge can hold more feeling than a finished one. This is a space for the materials, methods and makers shaping the work around us.

In the first issue

03 notes

Material study / 01

The language of cloth

We look closely at grain, drape, weight and wear — and at the choices that give each material its presence.

Process note / 02

Hands at work

From first sketch to final stitch, the work of making asks for patience, repetition and room to change course.

Studio field / 03

Made to be felt

We follow experiments in repair, reuse, embellishment and transformation, where material becomes a way to think differently.

For the first issue

Stories held close to the work.

ICÖИIKA is preparing a series of material-led stories from the STUDIO.ART.LAB and ARC community. Read them here when Issue 01 arrives.
